Active Listening Skills

During conversations where important information is given, the listener must become actively involved in the listening process.

The listener must communicate an understanding of the other person's point of view and get feedback that what they heard was correct. This process establishes the listener's right to speak. Until this is done, the speaker will resist your input.

You will learn to actively listen by using the following skills. (Note: You can use "map" link on the navigation bar if you want to skip ahead to any of these skills.)

  • Acceptance Response
